The Whispers formed in 1964, and scored many hits on the R&B Billboard Hot 100 charts throughout the 70s and 80s. The group reached #1 spot on the Hot Dance Club Party chart in 1979 and in 1987 went on to gain another #1 spot on the R&B chart with 'Rock Steady'. Throughout The Whispers incredible career they have garnered awards including winners of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation's prestigious pioneer award in 2008, and in 2003 the group were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
