Freaky Friday

Freaky Friday at Allen Theater

Why see Freaky Friday?

The Classic Movies Come to the Stage

Cleveland audiences will be among the first to see Disney's latest musical when it arrives at the Allen Theater. Premiering in Arlington last year, Freaky Friday is a whipsmart, family-friendly delight based on the novel by Mary Rodgers, which has been adapted for the big screen twice, once in 1976, and again in 2003, with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in the lead roles. The story follows a mother and daughter who don't always see eye to eye, but are forced to reckon with their differences when they wake up one morning having swapped bodies!

Freaky Friday boasts an impressive creative team, with the score coming courtesy of Pulitzer Prize-winning duo Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal), while Friday Night Lights' writer Bridget Carpenter wrote to the book.
